The Importance of People

I heard somewhere (I just can’t seem to figure out from whereeeee) that humans are such a unique species. It was something along the lines of no other species cooperates among non-related, non-family members as humans do with one another. There is just a large appreciation and kindness that humans have to express to each other through words, actions, or gifts.

Without one another, without people, life would be so boring. I forget what movie I watched just a snippet of, but this guy was stranded on earth with just his dog because of an invasion (? something like that?) and he literally had nothing to do except play with manikins and set traps to protect himself from any potential threat from outside of earth. Not only lonely, but no media, no source of entertainment, no nothing. Can’t even read a darn book because there’s no author around to write a story!

Sometimes, I think I take people for granted and don’t realize until later how much I am so glad I was surrounded by people to live with, grow up with, learn from, and even be able to teach.

Almost 90% of the time, I can confidently say that when we are mad, we are mad at an individual or what someone has done to us. It’s just a part of human nature. There’s no way you can be upset with a pencil or something (well, I’m sure you can find reasons to be angry I guess, LOL, but it won’t be as serious, as time consuming, as frustrating, and as hard to get over). In comparison to being angry or upset at a person for what they have done and said, being upset by a piece of paper or any other object, really, is pretty incomparable.

Lol, this is kind of turning into a gratitude for my community, my friends, people I have been able to meet, spend time with kind-of-post, which I’d really like to do as well! Genuinely, I am thankful and am even having a hard time expressing it into words. It’s kind of that feeling when you’re overwhelmed with joy after looking back on the relationships even if it hurt sometimes.

It’s through one another that we can grow, it’s through one another that we learn the best and worst about us, it’s through one another that we can see who we truly are and be the person we want to become.

I’ve never been so thankful for my friends back home now that I’ve spent so much time with them this break and I am already so sad that it’s already time to go our own ways now, back to school, and back to our own lives. Though we will always be connected (and phew thank goodness that we can still have some way of communicating at our convenience!), they have left such a lasting impact and memory in me that I am so grateful for.

^^this is my crazy, wonderful, hilarious community group on campus hahaha :)

So. People.

Pretty much unavoidable.

Gotta deal with them, but also learn from them.

It’s who we treasure the most and can show love to.

Sometimes it doesn’t always work out, but the most memorable moments of life is spending time with them and being in each other’s company.

It’s impossible to live life alone.

So take heart the close relationships around us and make some eternal memories <3

For we live by faith, not by sight.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work; If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!
